Good Morning,
Today I wanted to share two more rag purses. I made these a while ago. The first two rag purses that I made didn't have any pocket so I made another one with one pocket on the side and a big pocket on the inside. I also wanted to see how it would look with 9 squares on the front and the back. Here it is.
For once the picture actually looks better than the actual purse. I didn't like this rag purse. I think it was because of the fabrics. Both fabrics had print on them so it made the purse looks too busy. I didn't even bother to add the button. I didn't like the purse but my toddle loves it and it's her now. She carried it when we went out. Oh, you should have seen her. The purse was hanging down from her shoulder almost to the ground.
I was prepared. I bought extra fabrics so I started another one right after I finished the one above. Here it is. I like this one so it's a keeper. I didn't use any batter. With the batter, it was harder for me to sew. But I did use the batter for the handles.
See the button here.
I made the button! It was made from several loops and knots of a long yarn about 18". I've always wanted to learn how to do knot crafts but I found that was the most challenging craft for me. This button is the most basic one. I learned it once several years ago but I forgot how to do it. Luckily, my mom still remembered how to make it after 70 plus years.
Here are a few more buttons.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
Helen

Lovely rag purses. I especially like the blue one and the button closure is very cute.
Hi Helen
These look fabulous! I am going to have to teach myself to sew one of these days!
Wiw Helen: these buttons are the best!!!! They are way cool for a front of a statioanry kit.......great job. My Mom used to make those frog closures, too but her eyes are way too tired to do that now. TFS..........P
Love both purses! They are both very pretty. I have not make these rag purses out of the scallop square die yet. Too lazy.
I've always wanted to make the loop button. Never make one yet. They are so cool. Very nicely done, Helen.
Amazing!! Thanks for sharing.
