Here is today's card.  This is the front of the card.  I used the embossing  folder for the sentiment.  It's very simple.

Star card/ornament

Good Morning!
I was so into quilling and mini albums that I don't even remember the last time I did a tutorial. Today I wanted to share this star card/ornament.  This star card/ornament is so easy.  The credit goes to Felicity Gray. You will need 5 - 3 x3 square pieces of paper.  The DSP sampler is perfect for this project.  The red marks are for valley folds and the blue mark is the mountain fold.  Hi, Barbara Daine, isn't it the same fold like your triangle card?

 Then fold in like this.  Make five of them.

 

 To assemble apply adhesive on one size like shown and adhere each piece on top of another.

 

Thread ribbon like shown. The neat thing about this card/ornament is both sizes of the paper are shown.

 

 Then punch out two 1 1/2 squares one for the front and one for the back and adhere on top of the ribbon.   Sorry about the flash.  I took this at 10:30 PM.

First Christmas card for the Season

Good Morning,
Today I like to share my first Christmas card for this season.  Hi Rachel!  I case this card front layout from Stampin' Up! Occasion Mini Catalog. Guess how long it took me?  About two and a half hours.  No kidding!  I had a hard time making the white layer part.  This is my second one.  Remember I've told you I am not good with card making?  I am not kidding.

Here is the inside.  I thought I'll keep it simple.  Don't want to spend another two and a half hours for the inside.  So I just used the same layout as the card front.

My first Quilling projects

Good Morning,
I couldn't wait to share this with you.  I tried quilling once several months ago but felt intimidated by it and stopped pursuing quilling until last week.  I saw this snowflake   here.  I normally do not care much about snowflake.  I think they are pretty but they never got my attention until I saw this one.  As soon as I saw it I stopped everything.  I got my paper and cutter out and started working.  After about two hours or may be longer I got my first quilled snowflake.  I used toothpick for my quilling tool.

I really like it a lot.  So, another  hour and a half later I got another one here.  I added a diamond shape between the circle.

 

After making the two snowflake. I wanted to try something else  and  I got this.  Impressive isn't it?  I know I can't believe myself either. (lol)  This thing is so addicted.

 

And look at this one.  Cute isn't it?

More Pop up cards

Hello,

I really enjoy making these pop up cards.  I like it so much I made two more.  This first one here I used the StazOn ink on white shimmery card stock.  Then I colored the rose using the stamping pastel Cameo Coral.  I decided to try using brads and the elastic cord to hole the card close.

                   Here is the inside.  I decided to leave one section undecorated so I can write  a short message.

 Here is another one.  This is my favorite.  You can't really see the glitter here.  There are glitters all over the rose and the butterflies.

P.S.  A very nice and embarrassing thing happened to me yesterday.  After I drop the children off at school, I went to Amelia (grocery outlet).  I was going there to get  milk and a few boxes of cereal.  By the time I was at the check out lane my cart was half filled in.   I knew the place do not except credit card.  Can you believe that?  So I was a few dollars short.  I asked the cashier to take out one item but she didn't and the lady behind me offered to pay the different!  I was shocked!  Won't you? Her name was Eneat. (Is that how it spell?) I didn't want to except her offer but she insisted. So I excepted.  I asked  for her address so I can send her money back but she said no needed. I felt so BAD and EMBARRASSED after I take her money.  I told her that I will donate her money to a charity and she thought that would be fine. Now that I share this event with a few of my readers I felt much better.

Pop up cards

Hello,

I made two more of this pop up cards.  This is my second card. 

 Here is the inside of the card.  I wasn't  really happy with the result.  Some how it looks like something is missing.

 

 So I made another one.  This one I rotated the way I opened the card.  It is opened from the bottom up.  I used shimmery card stock and just stamped the Fifth Avenue floral using StazOn ink for both the butterflies and the rose. I stamped the roses three times and cut them out for the pop up look.  I used lots of dimensional.  I used clear Velcro to hole the card close.

Congrats Card

Good morning,
I finally took out this card and finished it.  Again this card was inspired from here.  I saw their "pop up circle" card and I love it.  I made one similar to the one they had.  Check out my earlier card here.  After I made that card I thought I can borrow the technique and made my own cut out. I thought a house would be easy to cut out. Why? Because during that time my cousin just bought a house and I was thinking of send him the card after I finished it.  Except I never finished it until this past weekend.

The house layout was inspired from July Stampin' Success magazine.








I hand cut the clouds and sponged on the front.  Then decided to sponge some more clouds on the inside since the house will also be visible when the card is opened.
















The inside look plain so I added a tree.  Now it looks much better.

For You card

Good Morning,

Today I'd like to share this "For You" card. I CASED this card from "Let's hearty Party." They were advertising the template. I took a look at the card and thought I'll give it a try since it look pretty simple and here she is.

Since the inside is pop up I thought I needed to make the front of the card matches the inside. So I layered the "Fifth Avenue Floral" and added some glitters. I am pretty happy with the result. What do you think?

3 D card

Hello,

I saw this 3 D card a while ago at http://stampingwithprincess.wordpress.com/category/3d-items/page/2/. I was hooked. I love 3 D items especially 3 D card. So, I must learn how to make one even though I don't have anyone to give it to. I just wanted to learn how to make it. After afew clicks on the web I made it. This is the front of the card. And the next picture is shown when the card is opened. Cute isn't it!

I havn't even finished the card yet but I was just so excited that I wanted to share.

Birthday card

Good afternoon,

I was so excited to share my pop up cake the other day that I forgot to show the front of the card. Here it is. I used Brilliant Blue for card base and Rainbow Sherbet (retired) DSP. For the candles I cut out two 1/2 inch Washington Apple (retired) DSP and for the flames I used the yellow Delicate Dot DSP from sale-a-bration. The sentiment is from "On your Birthday" set.

Here is another one that I made. This time I used Raspberry Tart DSP (retired). The swirl is from Sizzix. The cake topper is from "Crazy for Cupcake" set. For the flame I cut out one scallop from circle scallop punch.

I am a new user for blogspot and I am not a high tech person. This blogspot program is a little tricky for me to use especially the image. I have to upload the image first before I write my post and for the images I have to know which images to upload first and which to upload later. It needs thinking one step a head which I forgot to do on this post. I forgot to upload the front pink pop up card first and now I wanted to show the front of the card but I can't because if I upload the image now it will show at the top of the page instead of at the bottom. I tried to move the image but it won't allow. Anyhow, the front of the card will have to wait until my next post.

Pop up birthday card

Good morning!




When I first saw Stampin' Up! pop up cake, I wanted it. But I didn't want to spend that much money ($39.95) for it even as a SU demonstrator we get 20% off everything that we purchased. It's still a lot of money to spend on a die that I am going to use only a few times. And deep down I knew I can make the pop up cake without using the dies. And I did! :) Here it is!



It took me quite some time; about 6 hours of researching and planing and a few mess up (four) and finally I GOT it! I know some of you might think I am crazy to spend that much time. For me, it was all worth it and that was the fun part. Some time I like to challenge myself, just like this pop up cake.
