Good Morning,
Early last week I received an email that I've been waiting for. I've made a few custom order cards and cakes pieces a few months ago. I put labels on all my cards and cake pieces hoping that some one will be interested in hiring me to do invitations or favors of any kind. Last week I got an email from Ann. Ann is Janet sister. And Janet had ordered the 3 tiers cake from me early this year for a bridal shower. Janet email me after ward that everyone loved the cake. There was even a short article about the cake.
Any way, let's get back to Ann. Ann wanted the same cake except she wanted in brown and pink. They were for her daughter-in-law's baby shower. How sweet of her! I was excited, won't you! And Ann wanted them by May, 23rd. But that's not all. Ann wanted some thing else. I can't tell you yet. I am still working on them. I was a little panicking. I started to print the cake pieces. My printer couldn't handle Chocolate Chip card stocks. They were too thick! Oh, no! more panicking! I asked my husband for help on the printer. He couldn't do much. Thinking, thinking!!! So I printed just three pieces, one for each layer, on a regular printing paper. I cut them and started tracing them on the Chocolate Chip card stocks. Then I cut all the pieces, 43 of them, score them and assembled them. And here are the finished cakes.
The three tier cake is not quite finish yet. I had the medium roses made for the top tier and just needed to glue them on the icing.
All 43 pieces were decorated with 3 layers of card stocks on the inside. These pictures did not do the cake justice. Don't they look delicious!
I was surprised how fast I finished these cakes. I really enjoyed making these cakes and roses. For roses tutorial click here.
I am working on the other items that Ann wants. It's not much but it's a lot of work! So I better get moving.
Thank you so much for visiting! Have a marvelous Monday!

This cake is so beautiful and elegant! Bravo!
Wonderful cake slices... are you using the cricut TBBM cart or is this a free-hand template... I love all the detail that you have added to make it pop!
Helen,
Your cake is beautiful and the next time your printer doesn't work don't panic. Go to office Max and the copier can handle our heavy cardstoc and it actually cost less to copy them there than to pay for ink. Although you can't do it in the middle of the night like most of us do. The override tray is on the left side of the printer have the worker adjust it for heavy weight card stock. Good luck with all your adventures!
Love this cake! Especially the bouquet in the center. No other compares to your flowers!
