Match Box Face Lift

Good Morning,
Remember my spin-able matchboxes?  I decided to give it a face lift. I was tired of looking at that big flower sitting there by itself.  I eventually took it off and added these mini roses. I think this one looks much better.

3 x 3 Note Cards

Hello,
Today I'd like to share these quick 3 x 3 note cards.  I made a bunch of these and planning to carry them with me and hand them out to potential crafters.  Wish me luck. I really needed it!

The punches that I used for the flowers were the medium flower punch from Joann Fabric and the smaller one was from Creative Memories.  Papers, stamps, and inks were from Stampin' UP!

I also made a bunch of these; CASEd right off  Stampin' Up! Spring mini catalog.  This is a level 2 hostess set.  It has so many different images.  The cutest set ever!

Thanks for visiting.  Have a nice day!

"MOM" Cottage Wall Mini Album

Good Morning,

Beside boxes, I also a fan of the mini albums.  I had been working with this "mom" mini album finally had finished and turn it in.  I saw the "word" mini album at AC Moore and thought it was  such a clever idea.  However, I didn't like their album size. As soon as I came home I created this album, sort of!  I had to make the alphabets first.  I cut out  24 alphabets. That took me a few days.  Most of the alphabets measure 6 x  6.  So the album is 6" tall.  The length of the album is depending on what word the album is going to be.

I used transparency to cover the front album so it protected the embellishments.  Then I used the Organza ribbon to tie the album shut.  I also thought it'd be so neat to include the card on the album.  So I created a mini flower pot card for the front album cover.  The three flowers on the top is a pull out tag just like the so popular flower pot card.

On the inside of the front cover, I added a poem about mother that I found online.  Then the first page is "M" there is no space for picture on this page.

Next page is the "O" page.  I added a flip up page for more photos.

Between the "O" page and the last "M" page, I added 4 pages with two pockets for extra photos or for journal.

The last page, when the "M" pages is turned, I also added a few more pages with pockets.  Then I added this pop up flower pot.  I had a hard time creating the pop up flower pot. It could be the adhesive that I used wasn't strong enough.  Can you see the middle tier? The connection leg is popping up.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Crochet flowers TopNote boxes

Good Morning,
Can you tell I am a fan of boxes!  I have two boxes to share today.  I had almost forgotten about my crochet flowers so I thought it's time to use them again.  The papers are from DCVW the premium stack, love them!

Pat (Hi Pat) is going to use the box to hold chocolates so I thought this "enjoy" on the inside lid would get a kick!

I tended to make two of everything.  This pink one is the same as the blue.  I forgot to take the picture of the inside.

I am glad you've stopped by again today.  Have a lovely day!

Spring Card

Hello Everyone,

And h-e-l-l-o Spring!!!  I can't believe it's Spring!

I bought this "cheap talk" set last year but haven't use it much.  So it's time to take it out and use it.  I made this Spring card.  I was finishing the card then realized I forgot to stamp some flowers on the branch then my husband told me I had two packages. One of the packages was the goodies that I asked Barbara Diane to purchase and Barbara was so nice she gave me some extra of her embellishments. Perfect timing and perfect gift!  Thank you Barbara!  Did not want to disappoint Barbara, I used the flowers stickers right away.

Check out Barbara awesome creations here.

This next card is a CASE from April Stampin Success.  I made this card before I received the goodies from Barbara so I used rhinestone for the flower center.

The "happy spring" was from the old retired set Everyday Flexible Phrases.

Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Tall Chest

Good Morning,

I was hesitated to share this tall chest.  I finished this chest a few days ago, but I wasn't happy with the size decorations so I  was debating should I share.  After some thought I decided to share since I've spent quite some time on it.  So here she is.
This is the front.

Here is the size decorations that I was talking about.  I decorated both sizes like this. It looks a little awkward to me because the flowers are a little too big and the stems are too small.
Here is the back.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to decorate the back.  Then my son, Ray, he suggested that I should. So I made the same flowers like the front except I didn't add the scroll on the back draw flowers.

The draw measure 3 x 3.  It is a matchbox design.  The papers  are DCWV, premium stacks. I used  coaster for the top and bottom.

Hope you've enjoy today post.

Have a great weekend!  Happy Spring!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Good Morning,

A quick post today.  Happy St. Patrick's Day to those who celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  I have four leaves clover to share today.  I couldn't understand a few final instructions so I tweaked it and used a wire for reinforcement at the stem.

Here is a sneak peak of one of the items that I've been working on.

Thank you again for visiting.  Have a lovely day!

P.S.  Thank you everyone for your input about our van incident.  I've talked to one of my neighbor.  She's also a good  friend and she told me that there are a bunch of "stupid" kids who did something like that.  The police had been notify but couldn't do anything.  The group of kids had to be caught in action.

Hugs,

Origami Turtles

Good Morning,

I made a few items over the weekend but each one of them still need something.  Therefore, I didn't want to share yet.  It had been a long time since I shared any origami.  So today I will share this origami turtles.  I made the turtles a long time ago.  I forgot how to make it. :(  One time  I took one turtle apart and spent almost two hours  tried to redo it.  I just couldn't fold it.  Is this a sign of aging?

These turtles are very small.  They are the size of the penny and made from a 2 x 2 square.  I remembered each turtle took about 30 folds, that was the reason I don't remember how to fold it any more.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a nice day.

I have a few more pictures to share.  We had rain for three days in a row.  Look at my neighbor's back yard!

We called this Dorri's back yard.  They have a little girl name Dorri.

And this is the other neighbor.  We called this Sunny's back yard.  It's the little boy nick name.

We are in between the two neighbors.  Our house was built later so it has a higher ground.  Our back yard never get flooded.  But whenever Sunny's back yard flooded.  Our basement got water.  Even though we have sum pump, it didn't help.  I am not looking forward to spring cleaning at all.

Here is another picture.  It gave me goose bumps when I looked at it.

This is from our van.  Someone had intentionally cut the spark pluck wire in our van.  Many time I didn't lock my van when I parked at our drive way.  But an ordinary people don't something like this.  I hope this is just random act and not something else. Last summer our Scion passenger rare view mirror got smashed.  We parked it on the street. So assumed it was an accident.  But we always parked our van on the driveway.  And this happened.  Can you see the cut was from a blade?   We didn't go to the police.  We didn't know what to tell the police.  What would you have done if this is happening to you?

Very Vanilla Mini Roses Long Treat Box

Hello,
Today I have another box to share. These Very Vanilla mini roses are my favorite. They are so elegant. This picture doesn't do it justice.  I used Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla card stock for these roses.  These mini roses were harder to make than the others because I used card stock  (and I always thought that Very Vanilla card stocks were too thin until this) so when I curled the petals it was difficult especially the petal that had double layers.  But they sure are pretty!  I also added glitters on the roses but it didn't show in this picture. I wanted to decorate the box differently from the other  boxes so I created this long box.

I used the same scoring pattern like the match box here.  Except I changes the size (6 x 3) for this box.  I really needed the new Stampin' Up! butterflies embosslit.  Flowers without butterflies, it just doesn't look right.
Here is the inside.  It fit two almond joy perfectly.

I am so glad you stopped by again.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Asian Artistry - Plant

Hello again,
Today I have two more cards using the Asian Artistry stamp set. These two cards will be my last two cards using this stamp set for now. This is an old sketch from Mojo Monday. These two cards are identical.

The only different is the round corner for the first card and the ticket corner for the second card. I like the second one better.

It took me sometime to think how to stamp the plant because I wanted the flowers to be red and the plant in gold. It would be real simple if I have had gold ink but I don't.  So  I inked the plant in Versa Mark.  Then with a wet paper towel I wiped out the Versa Mark from the flowers.  I then stamped the image and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.
Next, I stamped the image on  transparency  and lined it up with the gold image.  Then I took the Real Red marker and colored just the flowers section of the image. With my homemade stamp-a-majic,  I stamped the flowers.  Then outline the flowers with versa mark pen and heat embossed the flowers with clear embossing powder.  I was happy how it turn out.

Again, the cards had no sentiment. I am waiting to order the Modern Label punch so I can use it with the word window punch.  I am not a stamper.  Most of the time when I stamped the sentiment directly on the card I always messed up.  I definitely don't want to mess up these cards.  Since I created two cards for each image, I decided to make a purse for them and made them into a set.

Here is the purse.  I always wanted to make a purse but never get around to make one until I saw Michelle's purses here.  I absolutely love her purses.   So I decided to make one.  This one looks more like a box instead of a purse but it will do for now.

I spent way too much time on this purse/box because I didn't know what I really wanted so I stopped after each layer to think what I should add next.  I decorated  around the box like this picture here.

I hope you've enjoyed today's post.  I am so glad you stopped by today.  Have a lovely day!

Cottage Wall Easel Card Box

Good Morning Everyone!

The easel card are so popular and so pretty  for showcasing the art work.  I had to make one also.  I've seen lots  of easel cards and easel card box but I haven't seen one using the top note yet, but it doesn't mean it's not out there.  Here is my easel card and box.

Underneath the easel card is the match box.  You can find the tutorial to make the match box here.  Isn't this make a great gift?

I hope you've enjoyed today post.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a great day!

Helen

P. S.
Here is the punch that I used to make the mini roses.  It's the medium flower punch.

I followed this tutorial here, but I also added a little bit of my own touch.  Any question, I love to hear from you.

Mini Roses Top Note Box

Hello,                                                                                                                                                     Look at what I've made when I couldn't sleep!  I used to read when I couldn't sleep at night.  Now, this is what I made when I couldn't sleep, roses.  When I didn't know what to do or couldn't create anything during the day, I would just punch out flowers from scraps and store them in the container so I can make different flowers when I needed one.  I've made much more mini roses than in this picture.  I used some before I realized to take the picture.

I really like the pizza box style and the top note die cut.  They both are a pair.  Here is my  pizza box with the mini roses.  I used Stampin' Up! Summer Sun card stock for the box.  I thought it was more orange than the yellow sun.  I sponged the mini roses with Stampin' Up! Summer Sun classic ink.  The ink was lighter then the card stock.  I also added glitters on the roses.

Here is the side view.

The box open up the long way.  I didn't really like it.

So I made another box.  For these roses, I sponged Pumpkin Pie classic ink.

I still wasn't very happy with the result.  But I added goodies in the box any way.  What is better than these chocolate nuggets? Yum!

Thank you so much for visiting!  Have a wonderful day!  It's going to be another beautiful day here in the Delaware Valley.

Asian Artistry - Bird on Bamboo Branch

Good Morning,

I don't have new stamp sets so I am playing around with this Asian Artistry set.  It is a level two hostess.  I have had this set for a long time but this is my first time stamping this image.  And that is the reason I don't buy new stamp set.  How many stamp set can a person have?

I tried to keep the same color scheme like my other two Asian Artistry cards so I embossed the bamboo with gold embossing powder and then color the bird in Real Red and clear embossed the bird.  I didn't like the red layer card stock.  I think it's too big.
(Note: See the ticket corner punch.  I used the half inch circle punch to make that.)

So I made another one, the same lay out.  Except, this time I took out the Real Red card stock.  Instead, I added the Real Red card stock at the bottom and added the ribbon only about one inch to the left.  I like this one better.

Here is the inside.

Have you notice all my cards have no sentiment?  I couldn't decide which sentiment to use so I just leave everything blank.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Finally I got some quilling paper strips

Hello Everyone,
Look at what I got,  quilling strips!  On Saturday, I went to a place called Flowers and Crafts Warehouse.  I found out about this place from a blogger friend, Judi.  You can check out Judi's  blog here.  As soon as I read about this place on Judi's blog, I wanted to go.  So yesterday I went.  My husband told me not to go since our GPS wasn't working at the moment.  I never been to that area.  It was only a little bit over an hour from where we live.  I was nervous to go there but I put on my brave face and went by myself.  My husband printed out the map plus the written direction.  I couldn't read while I was driving so I followed the map.  After about half an hour of driving, I got lost. I got lost for about an hour.  I didn't know where I was so I decided to give up and tried to find a way to come back home.  And guess what? I found the place! I spent two hours walking around in there.  The place was HUGE! Lots of flowers, scrap booking papers, and beads.  I have never seen so many beads.  Isles and isles and isles of beads.  But it didn't carry the things that I was looking for.  After two hours in there I was done and ready to come back home.  Then on my way out I found these quilling strips!  I was OMG! Quilling supplies!  Everything that I needed for quilling was there.  I got every pack of each color that they had there.  Plus the quilling circle sizer and a flower sampler kit. Yay! no more hand cutting 1/8" paper strips.

I couldn't walk a way from these ribbons.  These are 3/8" double face polyestersatin ribbon.  Each spool has 20 yards and it's only $2.75!  Look at the colors!  These three colors matched Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink, Orchid Opulence, and Bashful Blue.  They had more colors but I only bought these three.  I thought I also saw the 5/8" satin ribbon just like the ones that Stampin' Up! carries.  Have to check that out next time.

Any way, thank you so much for stopping by!

Velvet Rag Purse

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I'd  like to share my latest rag purse.  This is my fourth rag purse.  I love this one! The fabric that I used was just perfect for this purpose.  And the best part, I got it at 50% off.  I was even happier to find the button to match the fabric. The button was also 50% off but it cost almost as much as the fabric.

I broke two sewing needles making this purse so I need to stock up some sewing needles.  I used my purse yesterday and got compliments.  Hoowhoo! They couldn't believe I made it!

You don't need to look too close to see the mess up stiches.  Almost every corner has some messy stiches.  I was afraid that the stiches will losen up so I ran the stiches back and forth to make sure they were secure.

The purse doesn't have any pocket so my oldest son suggested that I make pockets for my purse.  I thought that was a very good idea.  So I have to make more purses (smile).

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Cherish Mini Album

Good Morning Everyone,
Today I have another mini album to share.  I love mini albums so you are going to see quite a few more.  The pattern papers for this album was from a company called Creative Memories and the paper package is called Cherish.  Here is the front cover.

Here are the inside pages.  They are very similar to my Cottage Watll mini album.

Flowers, flowers and more flowers.  Can you tell I just love flowers. This mini album could hold at least 12 - 4 x 6 photos.  I also created 3 pockets for more photos or journaling.

Hope you've enjoyed today mini album.

Have a nice day!
