Aren't they adorable? All these items are up on my Etsy shop.

I also added the link under Frequent visited blog.

I opened an Etsy shop almost 4 year ago but I abandoned it after a few months.  With my friend's (Elisabeth) help, my shop is up again.  Thanks Elisabeth for helping with my Etsy shop!

AG Doll Dresses

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe it has been more than a month since I post!  I had been busy with craft shows. Some shows were good some were BAD.    If the craft show coordinator advertised well, then we will have good show.  Many just took our money and didn't do their part.  Oh, well, then we will never go back there again.   I booked one craft show every week since the end of October.  Some weeks I even had 2 shows.  Crazy, I know.  I won't do that again next year.

Here is what I had been working on

Everyone only wanted dresses and the colors are pink or purple.  I made a bunch of tops over the Summer; no one looked at them.  Everyone just grabbed the dresses.  So I had been making dresses.

Also, I wanted to share my Black Friday fine.  I wasn't going to shop on Black Friday.    However, Victor was browsing Walmart flyers and I happened to  catch the page with the Red Heart With Love yarn on sale, $1.97 per skein for 315 yards.  My favorite yarns on sale.  I had to get some! May be more than some.  It turned out not only me wanted yarns.  The first Walmart I went to only had a few skeins left.  I went to 3 Walmart to get these yarns.  I didn't know how many skeins I bought.  Some were not in the picture.  I still need pink, green, and teal.  Couldn't fine those colors at any Walmart.   Hopefully these yarns will last me a while.
Until next time....

Crochet AG Doll Bathing Suit

Hello Blogger Friends,

Is it June already? The kids only have 10 more days of school, oh my.   Life had been a little hectic  lately both good and not so good.    But I felt that I need to do a quick post.  Although, it is not time for bathing suit in our area, I thought I will share it any way.  I made this adorable AG doll bathing suit a while ago.

You can find the bathing suit tutorial here.  I am not good at knitting so for the hat I crochet it instead.

until next time....

American Girl Doll Sweaters

Hello,

Although the calender says it is Spring but Winter refuse to leave.  I see snow in the forecast for tomorrow. Therefore, the American girl dolls need some sweaters to keep them warm. :)

This gray one is my favorite.
This second one has no seem.  I used circular needle for the sleeves.  It has a very nice clean look but oooh the time it took to knit those two tiny sleeves are just too long.

Here are all of them
They are all made from top down with little seem.

Knit and Crochet American Girl Jackets

Hello,

It is soooo cold out that even the American girl dolls need to bundle up.  I saw these jackets on google search then I put my brain to work and here are the jackets.

This first one is my favorite.  The buttons do add a nice touch to the clothing.

This last one is crochet.  I like it too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Knit Pink Dress

Hello,

We were just started to see some ground but last night mother nature dumped another 2" of snow.  I wanted to see color beside white, white and more white for the past 2 months so I made this dress.  Isn't it adorable? I made the skirt part really fluffy.  It is very pretty but oh it took so long to knit each row.  You can find lots of free pattern  here.  However, I always changed the pattern to feed my need.

Knit Garter Stitch Dress For American Girl Doll

Hello,

I have accumulate lots of 4 ply yarns. I can't used them to crochet doll clothes because they are too bulky. I used to knit when I was 13.  I knit sweaters, jumpers and shirts for  my niece.  After 27 years, I forgot how to knit all of them.  I made all those patterns up so hopefully one day they will came back to me.

I found this easy pattern on knitting forum.   The purple and yellow dress used Caron Simply soft yarn.  They turned out so pretty.  But they took so long to make.

This white and pink dress used Red Heart yarn.  That yarn felt like sand paper. My fingers are cracking and peeling from using that yarn.
You can fine the dress tutorial here.  However, because I used different yarn (mine are 4ply) I reduced the number of stitches.  I crochet the hats and purse.  They are super quick to make.

Have a wonderful week!  Stay warm....

Crochet Top For American Girl

Hello,

I made two different American girl tops from the same pattern.  There are so many nice patterns out there for sale but because I'm not good at reading pattern so I preferred to create my own pattern.  Sorry I don't have it written down. I made them up as I crochet.

I made the first one short and added a flower and a hair band for a summer top.

Then I made the second one longer. Love the way it turned out.  It looks like one of the jacket that I have.   This time a hat to go with the jacket.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week a head!

Crochet Ice Skating Outfit

Hello,

I saw the crochet outfit for 18" doll here.  I tried to make it following the pattern but the outfit came out too small.  I think because  I crochet tightly. So I increased the hook size to 4mm and made my own pattern.   It turned out so cute.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My First Attempt At Sewing Doll Clothes

Hello,

I have seen some cute doll clothes especially on Pinterest. Oh, how I wanted to make them.  Some blogs even offer free patterns but what a gal to do with the free patterns if she can't sew.  Faye is one lucky girl, Katie at Wesie and Julp, sent some BEAUTIFUL doll clothes.  Thank you Katie!

Back in March, I did some Spring cleaning.    I wanted to make some doll pants from Faye out grown clothes.  These doll pants were made from her shirt sleeves. I did mange sew two straight lines using the sewing machine on all the pant legs.  The rest part of the pant were hand sew

except this pink waist.  This pink pant was my first one.  I combined both hand sewing and machine sewing  the waist.  It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do just the waist (unbelievable right!).  I was happy with the result though.  It look really nice and the pant fit perfectly on the doll.
I still have some scrap left so I wanted to try making a doll shirt  and skirt.  This is all I got for the shirt.  I am stuck with the neck  and the arm holes.  I tried  both hand sewing and machine sewing on the neck; it didn't work.  The neck expanded every time I sew. I heard something about the knit stitches. I saw a video on youtube but still don't know what it is.
I forgot to double check the elastic on the skirt before I sew it together so it was twisted and I didn't feel like redoing it.

The skirt looked too plain so I stitched a small flower and added a bead for the flower center.  Faye was happy to see the stitch flower.

Happy sewing!

Lots Of Crochet Doll Clothes

Hello,

I made these doll clothes while I was in FL last week.  For this set I used 3 ply yarn and I like it better then the 4 ply yarn.  The finished clothes fit the doll better.  For the skirt I used the butterfly stitches from here.

Two ways pink jacket/sweater.

These were made earlier when I was on the crochet doll clothes mood.

This blue and white suite was inspired from here.

This last one was sent to Katie at Westie Julep.

Thanks for stopping.  Have a great weekend!

Crochet Doll Accessories

Hello,

Today sharing are all about doll.  My daughter, Faye,  is finally got her first American girl doll and her name is Saige.  Faye had been saving all  the money that was given to her.  She even asked for a job so she could get pay (lol) and  save up the money to buy the doll.   I am in the process of painting a house right now.  She asked if she could help painting and then get pay.  At first I didn't like the idea of a 5 years old  helping me painting.  She insisted so I gave in.  I showed her how to paint and you know what she could do it! We finished 3 rooms together.   And she had enough money for her first American girl doll.

I have to admit that the doll is very pretty.  Love the boots!  She also came with a pair of earring and a ring.  I made the necklace for her.

You knew I can't sew and doll does need new clothes. :) So I crocheted her this dress and hat.

She also needs at least one accessory to go with the dress right? How about a crochet fat bottom purse?
I used size #3 crochet thread for this purse.

I hope I haven't bored you with this post.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Crochet 18" Doll Dress # 2

Hello,

After making the doll shirt and dress that I post here.  I picture this dress in my mind and I had to get it out of my mind or I can't do anything else. lol

The dress didn't come out as nice as I thought it will look but my daughter like it.  She had the dress on her doll all the time.

For those of you who is new to doll like me, here is a great tutorial on how to take care of the doll hair.  I got the wig brush from  local Sally beauty supplies for $5 including taxes.

Crochet 18" Doll Clothes # 1

Hello,

My daughter is into doll because our next door neighbor has an American girl doll.  If you don't have little girl, you most likely won't know that American girl doll cost  $105 each and the accessories run between $7 - $120.

I found out that AC Moore and Joann Fabric carry Spring Field doll collection and they are MUCH cheaper compare to the AG doll.  I got one Spring Field doll for my daughter from AC Moore for $13 including taxes.  The only different between the AG doll and the Spring Field doll is the hair.  AG doll has nicer hair then the Spring Field doll. But for the price that I am paying, we're both happy.

Next came the doll accessories.  They are so cute! However, I don't want to pay for them because I think I can make them and I did.

Here is my third try on the crochet shirt.  I followed the tutorial here.  I decided I only wanted to make the top.

I didn't really like the neck so I created my own pattern.  And here it is.

I made the neck lower.  Although, it show the neck join, I really like the dress shape and the way it fit the doll.  I wish the dress fit me. (lol)  My daughter wanted one for herself.  I told her maybe. I will share the tutorial at another time.

I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!

Will return after the New Year.

Cyber hugs to all my blog friends,

Helen
