Quilling Pointsettea Mini Album Cover

Good Morning,
I enjoyed making mini albums. But I had a hard time decorating the front cover.  But with quilling, I thought this turned out pretty nice.

 
 I made a couple of these for the craft show.  I will share more details about  the craft show later in the week.

I also made two like this.

Then I made a few more like this. This is my favorite.

I forgot to take the picture of the finished album.  I used one of the Stampin' Up! Hodgepodge Hardware under the tree. I printed the word "Joy" and cut it to fit the hardware.

Hand Stitches Album Front Cover

Good Friday Morning Everyone!
My last two mini album covers were a bit plan so I thought I will try something different.


I couldn't fine the red floss that I like so I used the regular sewing thread but the thread was very pretty.  I used single thread for this one.  It looked o.k.  

I had to try another one with double thread.  I love the second one but it took much longer to do the stitching because every time I pulled, the thread became uneven.

 This front album took me over 3 hours to complete.  I added the word "celebrate" under the tree.  It looked very nice.  I was very happy with the finished album.

And of course the Christmas tree inside the album.

I don't do challenges but I like Michelle Make It Monday linky party so I am going to enter this.

Mini Albums

Hello,


I enjoyed making mini albums.  My mini albums are very simple. I wondered  why I couldn't just keep my card simple as my scrap pages?  Hmmm...


Here is the front cover.

 The finished album is very bulky so I had to make something for closure.  There was nothing much I could do so I added a brad and elastic cord with some beads. I printed "celebrate the season"  and just used Stampinp' Up! 5 petal  punch to make the poinsettias.


Here is another one.

I also printed the word "celebrate".  I cut out the word to fit the hardware.  Then I added lots of Stampin' Up! Crystal effect on top of the word.  If you don't have SU crystal effect, there is a similar product at Michale and with the 40% off coupon you could get it for a fraction of the cost.

Gate Fold Mini Album

Good Morning Everyone,

I started this gate fold album a while ago but lost my mojo when it was time to do the tags.  I am not a tags person.  I don't know why but I just don't like making tags.  For this mini album I went out of my comfort zone and try something entirely different.  I rarely used black and white.  But for this mini album, I thought I will give it a try.  I used  the La Cream stack from DCWV.  The papers are so pretty with flock on some of the papers.


Here is the front of the album.   The charms are hard to see.  Those were parts of the earrings that I got from the neighborhood yard sale.  The button on the right cover was my handmade brad.  The elastic band hold the album close.

Here are some of the inside pages.  I did not have the bind-it-all wire so I used the 1" book rings.  I hide the knot inside the spine. Link to the tutorial is at the end of this post.

Here is a picture of the finished album lay flat.  It was 2 1/2 inches thick.

I really love this album design so I made two more.

These two mini albums are not finished yet.  They need embellishments.

"MOM" Cottage Wall Mini Album

Good Morning,

Beside boxes, I also a fan of the mini albums.  I had been working with this "mom" mini album finally had finished and turn it in.  I saw the "word" mini album at AC Moore and thought it was  such a clever idea.  However, I didn't like their album size. As soon as I came home I created this album, sort of!  I had to make the alphabets first.  I cut out  24 alphabets. That took me a few days.  Most of the alphabets measure 6 x  6.  So the album is 6" tall.  The length of the album is depending on what word the album is going to be.

I used transparency to cover the front album so it protected the embellishments.  Then I used the Organza ribbon to tie the album shut.  I also thought it'd be so neat to include the card on the album.  So I created a mini flower pot card for the front album cover.  The three flowers on the top is a pull out tag just like the so popular flower pot card.

On the inside of the front cover, I added a poem about mother that I found online.  Then the first page is "M" there is no space for picture on this page.

Next page is the "O" page.  I added a flip up page for more photos.

Between the "O" page and the last "M" page, I added 4 pages with two pockets for extra photos or for journal.

The last page, when the "M" pages is turned, I also added a few more pages with pockets.  Then I added this pop up flower pot.  I had a hard time creating the pop up flower pot. It could be the adhesive that I used wasn't strong enough.  Can you see the middle tier? The connection leg is popping up.

Cherish Mini Album

Good Morning Everyone,
Today I have another mini album to share.  I love mini albums so you are going to see quite a few more.  The pattern papers for this album was from a company called Creative Memories and the paper package is called Cherish.  Here is the front cover.

Here are the inside pages.  They are very similar to my Cottage Watll mini album.

Flowers, flowers and more flowers.  Can you tell I just love flowers. This mini album could hold at least 12 - 4 x 6 photos.  I also created 3 pockets for more photos or journaling.

Today I'd like to share this mini album. We don't celebrate St. Patric's Day or Easter so I fast forward to Mother's Day.  This album is similar to my Christmas album.  I just changed the papers.

A few more mini albums

Hello,
I have just a few more mini albums to share.  These are just regular book like mini albums.  After making several waterfall mini albums, I was ready for something different.  Lucky me I found this blog here.  It show you how to put a mini album in just a few minutes. If you read my post, you knew it took me two hours to make one card.  There is no way I am going to make an album in a few  minutes.  I like my albums' cover sturdy, actually all my covers including post-it-note holder are hard covers. They look quite impressive right Rachel?

For the front cover I decided to use punches instead of quill flowers.  These  swirls here are from "Clear Stamp."  I love swirls and love them even more when they were half off.

 

I hand cut this poinsettia petals and assemble them.  This was inspired from "Mainly Flowers" blog.

 

Can't leave without showing another quilled flowers.

After making the waterfall albums, I thought the book like mini albums are too plan.  So I added this O' Christmas tree on one of the inside page. This made the album more interesting.  Won't you agree?

Quill week - Day 3

Good morning,
Another rainy day.  It's raining at least once a week.  A good reason to stay in and make more mini albums. (lo). Today I like to share this  poinsettia that I used to decorate the front of the 6 x 6 mini albums. After making the simple quilling flowers I thought I wanted to try something more detail so I tried this flower on another cover of the waterfall album.  I had visited many quilling blogs and this poinsettia was inspired from one of the blog that I had visited.  I forgot which blog.

 Then this one.

 

 And then this one.  For the center I added a gem instead of a tight coil to see how it would look.  I like it a lot with the gem.  I think it would look even better with a bigger gem.  I cut out all my quilling strips.  I am working with 1/4 inch strips since I still haven't got my quilling tools yet.

 

The word "Christmas" is from the "Go Go Boots" alphabet. At first I didn't really like the set but now I love it.  It's the perfect size for scrap booking which I had neglected for many months.  See the "t" in Christmas?  I cut out "f" and snipped off the top and make it into a "t".  The actual "t" I thought it was too small. Quill week - Day 2

Quill week- Day 1

Hello everyone, I have to admit I am now addicted to quilling.  I had stopped everything else and all I do now is quilling.  I did managed some how packing the kids' lunch and sent them to school.  I did remember to pick them up from school and checked their schoolwork. (lol)  I spent all my free time now just doing quilling. I still haven't get my quilling tool yet.  House chores are now being put off as long as I can tolerated. How addicted am I?  I think this is bad but I love it. (lol)
Here is another quilled flower.  I post this waterfall album last week.  I felt something was missing on the front cover so I added this flower.  I like it better with the quilled flower on the front.  What do you think?

Tri Shutter mini Album

Good Morning,

I saw this Tri shutter album at "sunny stampin studio" a while ago. Boy that Andrea really got the brain. She put two Tri shutter cards and made it into an album. I love her idea and thought I gave it a try.
Here it is the Tri shutter album. The finish album is 6 x 8 when close. When open it is almost 3 feet long but it hold less then 10 pictures. So I created pockets behind the pictures so there are plenty of space for journal.

I showed it to a few friends some like it some didn't like it. I guess it's depend if there is space to display the album.
I don't have space to display the album but I'll be making more. So stay tune.
