My first one.

I love how it turned out so I made three more.

I normally don't care about yellow but for this card I love the yellow one.

Crochet Autumn Square

Good Friday Blogger Friends,

I am on the roll of making another crochet afghan.  This one is not for me.  I offered my friend, Rachel, to make her a crochet afghan.  Rachel loves Autumn colors and these are the colors and design that she chose.

Enjoy this beautiful Fall weather.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Crochet Circular Shrug For Me and Faye

Hello,

I saw some pretty crochet circular shrugs on google search.  I saw this pattern here.  However, I couldn't make the shrug based on the diagram so I changed the pattern from 6 petals to 8 petals.

It turned out more like a sweater than a shrug since I added the sleeves.  It looks really cute on her but she didn't really like it.  She didn't even give me her best effort post.  I think it was because of the color.  She likes a deeper blue color.

I really like how it looks on Faye so I made another one for myself.  I used cotton yarn for mine.  I heard that the cotton yarn stays in the original shape better.

Thanks again for looking.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Refinish Kitchen Cabinets

Hello,

I am sharing a completely different thing today.  My kitchen cabinets are a little over 7 years old.  They are not too old but they are not new either.  We installed them our self when we moved in.  The cabinets under the sink needed paint badly.  I wanted to paint the cabinets white but Victor objected to that and I didn't really wanted white cabinets either so I waited.  Then I stumbled upon this video.

Instead of used the expensive mineral spirit to clean the grease off.  I used white vinegar and water to clean the grease of the cabinets.  Then I sand the cabinets as much as I could. That was the hardest part.  The fun part was the painting.

This is the area under the sink before I painted.  The  color was golden oak.
Here is after I painted with Bombay Mahogany.

O.K, so the finished pictures don't look  good (blame my camera and my photo taking skill)  but my actual kitchen look much nicer than before.  Everybody that saw it, loved it.  I really like it. It looks like we had a new kitchen cabinets.  How long did it take me your were wondering?  I didn't do all in one time.  I cleaned and sand two doors a day.  I didn't want to over whelm myself and lose interest in doing the project so I took it easy.  Therefore, it took me about 10 days. Thank goodness I have a small kitchen.  I only had 16 doors to work with.  This is suppose to be a two days job.   But who's counting days? I'm counting the $$$ that I saved.  :)  I don't know how long this will last.  I painted many coats hopping this will last me a few years.

That is it for now.  I need to go and finish painting Faye's room.

You Make Me Happy Card

Hello,

Today I'm sharing a card that Faye and I made.  I did the cutting.  She made the punkin. She even sponged the edges to give more depth.  She did the stamping too.

Some of you knew Katie from Katie Sew 4 Fun.  Last week Katie surprised Faye with two Fall dresses for the American Girl doll.  Aren't they adorable?

I got Faye another American Girl doll, Ivy,  for her birthday last month.  Back in March the company offered free shipping so I ordered the doll and kept it hidden until Faye's birthday.  Children  birthday is very simple in our family.  They like pizza and ice cream cake for their birthday.  As for Victor and I, we never celebrate our birthday.  I don't get it.  We never blew birthday candle.  How come we still get old? lol

I thought Saige was pretty but this Ivy doll is even prettier with the black hair.   The doll looks so pretty in the dresses that Katie sent.

Thanks for stopping by.

Doily Card

Hello,

A quick card made with left over quilling flower and origami bow.

Summer is still around. The temperature is still in the 90.  Many people complain about the heat I on the other hand enjoy every minute of it.

That is it for today.

Super King Size Crochet Afghan Finished

Hello,

I started this super size crochet afghan a few months ago.  I didn't expect to finish it so soon but I finished it; however,  I do not like it.

I think it has to do with the colors and the design.  Plus it is so big. How big you were wondering?  It is bigger than the king size flat sheet.  I finished the edging using the crab stitch.

I am keeping this for now but I will definitely be taking it a part next year.

Thanks for stopping by.
