Taking A Break

Greeting From Meritt Island, Florida,

I'm taking a little break.  The children wanted to visit Florida so after 20 hours on the road we are here now.  We don't do anything fun just relax and visiting family.  My internet wireless is so slow so I am just going to take some break from blogging and I will catch up with you all when I get back.

Until then....

Quilling Grapes Doily Note Card/ Online buyer beware

Hello,

I saw this card on Pinterest
I was working on quilling then so I changed to quilling grapes.

On to a different topic.  This morning when I logged  in to my dashboard this is what I found

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Pat's Birthday gift":

Hi, I found someone than has your photos of quilling jewelry and she says she made them, I give you the link if you want check it.

Thank you Anonymous for letting me know about this. I made that set for my friend's birthday gift about 2 years ago.  You can see it here.

I wasn't mad or angry about this.  On the other hand I was flattered that someone like my quilling jewelry so much that she/he claimed it their.  I guessed that person didn't know how to make the box to go with the set that was why she/he stole only the quilling photo.  And my photo wasn't even a good one.  I tried to contact the seller but couldn't get further than that first page.

So from now on I will have to water mark my work.

I will feel very sorry for the person who would buy this set.  So online buyer be ware.

Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Crochet Purse #2

Hello,

Every time my mom went to the store, she tucked her money INSIDE her shirt.  She had a few purses but she didn't like them.  So I offered to make her one.  She chose the color and the size of the purse.   And this is what I made her.  The purse measured about 5 x 9 inches.  The handle was about 30 inches.

For the purse handle I used 2 rows of 3 dc clusters and single crochet stitches on each side to help prevent stretching.
I hand stitched the liner and the zipper.  It look much nicer then my first crochet purse.

I asked her to add a big rose, the same color, to the purse but she said she's too old for that.  She carried it every time we went to the store.  So I guessed she likes it.  I think the purse would look much nicer with the rose.  May be I'll make another one with the rose.

 The inspiration was from here.

Crochet Gift Card Holders/Small Gift Bags

Hello,

I saw the cutest crochet purse here and just had to make some.  These purses are very small.  The purse body measured about 3 1/2 x 5 inches.  They are perfect for small gift or gift card holder.

These pink ones here I used yarn and I used small crochet hook to have tight  stitches.

The next 4 pictures below I used size #3 crochet thread.  I really like how they turned  out.  FYI one ball of thread can make three small purses.

The last one here I tried the size #10 crochet thread.  It took longer to make the purse and the purse was not sturdy.

As always thanks for stopping by.

Crochet Cell Phone Pouches

Hello,

I had wanted to make cell phone pouch.  I thought they are cute.  Here is my first one.
This is called the cross stitches. You can fine the tutorial here
I don't care about the new cell phone out there so I still carry the flip phone.
This is not my favorite one because I used a really soft yarn and it gave out.

So I went and bought some Lily sugar'n Cream yarn and made these two.
This one is for myself.   I used to dig for my phone in my purse when it rang so I thought a pink one should take care of the problem.  You see that cute button! It is one of the button that my mother-in-law gave me.  She gave me about a pound of different kind of buttons.  The tiny pink rose was also from her.

Here is a bigger one.  I believe this one fit the so call Smart Phone.

Thanks for looking.  Have a wonderful weekend!

My First Crochet Purse!

Hello,

As I mentioned before I really needed a new purse.  I started to crochet some granny squares for the purse then stopped and then I started a new one with the hexagon shapes and then I stopped again.  Last weekend I decided to start a new purse and this time it is finished.  The purse measure 12L x 8H x 4D inches.

I decided to use fabric for the handles because they won't stretch and they are easy on my shoulder.  I didn't want to buy new fabric so I just used whatever fabric I had on hand.  I also added the lining for the inside purse with a zipper pocket and an open pocket.  I couldn't show you the lining because it was not done properly.  Let me tell ya, sewing the lining took me as long as the time that it took me to crochet those19 squares.  It took me about 2 1/2 days on and off to make those 19 squares and joining them together.

Looking at this  picture,  I don't like the handles. The color is off.   I have to think of something to fix that.
The crochet flowers are my own pattern but it was inspired from here.
The square after the rose was from here.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Orange Crochet Flower Note Card

Hello,

I saw a similar card as I was googling for something and the card just stayed in my mine until I had it made.   Crochet flower and the rosette were made by me.

The pattern papers were from DCVW called the Lemon Tart.  Love that paper stack!

Again, thanks for visiting!

Ghirardelli Chocolate Brief Case

Hello,

Is it July already! oh, boy!

I was looking and thinking for all occasion male treats. Then I saw this here and love it! I changed two things.

Instead of use ribbon for the handle, I used the SU tap punch.

And for the bottom corner, I used only haft a circle.  this way it can stand.
