Flying Crane Baby Cards

Good Afternoon Bloggers!

Surprisingly these two cards were very fast to create.

I don't have any baby sentiment stamp so I printed the "happy new baby" onto the card stock.

I saw this card here.

Jumbo Crochet Flower For Flip Flops

Hello,
We finally had a few nice days after all those rain.  The weather felt like Summer and it is going to be another nice one today.

And speaking of Summer look at these cute flip flop!

I promise my daughter that I would put some flowers on her flip flops.  I let her chose the flowers and rhinestone to go in the flower center.  I thought she did great with her choice of colors.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Romantic Roses Necklaces

Hello Bloggers!

My friend Pat (Hi Pat) suggested that I made different colors for the spiral rose necklaces that I made last time.    So I made these.

Due to the dark background, it was very hard to take good pictures.  I really like how they turned out.  I used the same wooden circle piece.  I cut black card stock and mount it on the wooden piece then I sponged the edge with black ink to blend everything.  I painted Mod Pod all over the pendant to make it stronger.

Thanks for looking!

Lattice Cards

Good Morning Bloggers!
I saw this card here.

I made a similar card before.  You can see them  HERE. Learned that from HERE. It was very difficult  to make those two cards so I haven't thought of making it again.  But now I found an easier way to make this design.

Here it is

I mounted all the card pieces that I needed for the card (card base on the bottom then the mounting piece then the top piece) using just a bit of the temporary adhesive to hold the pieces in place.  Then I placed my die cut right in the center and ran them through the Big Shot.

The Spellbinder only cut through two layers of cards but it leave a good impression on the third card stock.  Using a craft knife  I cut the shape out and you will have this

Take the very top piece and turn it over. Then apply double sticky tape around the shape.  I see I only had the tape on the two sides.  You should add adhesive on the top and the bottom too.

Cut a bunch of small strip papers.  Mine were 1/8" and mount them on the tape like this.

Don't worry about the excess strips. You can trim them once you are done.

Then weave the other strips in and press onto the tape.

Cut off any excess strips.  Apply more sticky tape and mount it to the mounting pieces (center piece).
and you will have this.  Then mount this onto the card base.

Here is the finish card.

Origami Cherry Blossom Ball

Good Morning Bloggers!

I had been wanting to make this origami cherry blossom ball since I first saw it  a long time ago.  I finally stumbled upon the TUTORIAL and made all these.  There were 30 pieces for each ball and each piece had so many folds that I was only able to make one ball in a day.

I used glue to assemble these balls. I wanted to make sure the ball stay in one piece.  I had so many of these origami balls. I might want to sell them at the craft shows and I don't want the pieces to fall out.

Thanks again for taking a peak.

Hair Clips

Hello Everyone,
I  made this hair clip using the Stampin' Up! Flower Fold die.  After cutting all the pieces I  melted each petal.  There were at least 8 layers for each hair clip.  I know that was a lot of melting! But once you get the hang of it, they were pretty fast to melt.
The back of the hair clip

And these are the flowers that I made before.  I used them for hair bands.  My daughter lost this pink one.

and here are a few more

Wishing you a lovely day!

Sharing a quick and easy note cards.  My favorite is the first one. I used pink crochet flowers and added half pearl in the center. It reminded me of the cherry blossom.

This one I used purple ribbon roses.
This last one I used light blue paper roses.
The stamp set was from Paper Trey Ink called Turning New Leaf.

Mojo # 190

Good Morning Bloggers!

I love this week Mojo Monday sketch so I decided to play along.

I took these pictures before the batteries went out.  Could that be the reason for the blurry? It happened before.

Any way thanks for taking a peak!

Decorated Photo Frames Phase II

Good Morning Bloggers!
What a busy weekend! I didn't have much time for craft but I managed to get one photo frame from Friday post decorated. The roses were made using yellow card stock then I sponged SU Tangerine Tango around the edge to give some depth.  The pearls were from the scrap book convention that I attended last year.

I love the Tattered Floral die that was what I used to make these gorgeous roses.  I used the second to the smallest flower on the die to make these roses.  A similar tutorial can be found here.

I bought the following frames before I discovered the cheap but nice wooden frames from Michaels. I decorated these a few weeks ago.  I didn't do anything to these frames except added the roses.

I love these white roses.  I used watercolor paper that I got from Walmart.  I didn't add any glitter to the roses.  I thought they were pretty the way they are.

Happy Mother's Day

Good Sunday Morning Bloggers and Happy Mother's Day to all the MOMS!

Yesterday I received this lovely card from my friend Rachel at
A One of A Kind Design By Rachel

This picture doesn't do this card justice.   I love the papers and the color combos.  Rachel creates such beautiful cards.  I am fortunate to see her creations in person and one of the lucky one to receive her card from time to time.

Thank you so much Rachel for thinking of me.  You sure put a smile on me.

Hugs,

Covering Wooden Photo Frames

Hello Bloggers!
I bought these frames from Michaels last week and yesterday I spent time covering them with pattern papers.

I used Score Tape.  They work so great! and between the Score Tape I used the Tombo glue stick.

The wooden frame is almost 8" square so I cut my paper 8" x 8" and adhere to the frame.  Then I smooth the paper all over.  Trim any excess paper on the outside edge using a craft knife.  Then use sanding block to smooth the edges.

Turn the frame over and make two cut in the center.
Fold the paper over to see how much paper you will need to cut off.  Then adhere double sticky tape at the end of the paper and fold it over.  Used a butter knife or bond folder to smooth the paper.
Once finished you will have a nice clean look on the inner opening.
I cut four 1/2" strips for the sides of the frame.  I ripped the edge before I glue them to the sides. The ripped edges blended the strips together nicely.  Trim off any excess paper.

Here are two more frames.

It did need a little practice.  The brown frame below was my first one.  Notice the gab around the inner frame. I cut out the inner square then I cut another 1/4" piece of paper and tried to cover the inner edge frame.  It didn't give me a clean look and more work.

Then I got better.  For the inner heart I had no choice but to cut out the heart shape then glue a small strip of paper around the inside of the heart.   To make everything blend in nicely I sanded all the edges then I sponged the coordinated color all around.

Stay tune for phase two of the frames.  Have a wonderful weekend!
