Stars origami

Good morning!

Thank you for visiting. Today I like to share these stars that I've made a long time ago. They are really easy and fun to make. You will need 3/8 x 11 strip of papers. The thinness the better. For this tutorial I used pattern paper. It's a bit too thick.

Here you go.

Make a loop like this one. (It's like tiding except it's flat)

Insert the shortest end in the loop.

Keep pulling on both end until you get this (star base). It needs some practice but once you get it's easier than a piece of cake. :)

Cut the shortest end and fold in like this. Then start folding the long end. The star base will guide you where to fold next. Keep folding until there is about 1/3 of the paper left.

Tuck the end in like this and cut off excess.

so you'll get this.

Hold your star like this.

Use you nail and push the edge in or if you are making a lot of them use tweezer to push the edge in.

And here are the stars.

Thanks for tuning in. Until next time.

Helen

P.S. I just realized you can use gift wrapping papers.  They are thin and durable and have nice pattern.  They should make nice stars.

Hi Helen! You make everything look easy. I can't believe there is anyone who doesn't like the tri-shutter album! I think it's gorgeous and can't wait to get mine. Looking forward to what else you make. I'm still having trouble accessing your blog address directly. Any idea why?
