TopNote Purses

Good Morning!

Aren't these purses adorable?  I bought a few small paper bags a while ago just because they were clearance.  I was about to get rid of them went a light bold went up and I got these adorable purses.

 The stamp image was from this year Sale-A-bration.  The flower was from punches that I layered and hold them together with a brad in the center.

 

 The two purses with no sentiment at the bottom picture, I used the faux leather technique. Aren't they cute?  I cut the small paper bag to fit the TopNote purse.  So what did I do with the other half?

 
 

Here is what I did.

I folded 1" up and crease really good. 

Sorry about the flash.  I took these pictures at 10:30 PM.

Then opened the bag and cut on the four corners like shown.

 

 Apply adhesive on the two small pieces and along the edge of one of the longer piece.

 

 Turn the bag over and use something to press the bottom to shell it off.  That's another bag and it fit the TopNote purse!

Medallion NoteCards

Hello,

A few more quick note cards  using the Medallion stamp set.  I never owned a background stamp set and this Medallion stamp is huge.  This stamp is pretty the way it is so I just stamped with Versa Mark and gold embossed it.

Just wanted to share these quick note cards.   I think these are the quickest card I've ever made.  I made these in about 20 minutes. Yay!  Thanks Rachel for  suggested me to  get some embossing folders to make quick cards.

Birtheday card

Good Morning,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I had a good time with my family.  We had brunch instead of dinner.  Then the children started to complain since my mom's house didn't have computer and I had to get back home to make a few more items for my upcoming craft show.

Today I like to share another lattice card.  A friend ( Hi, Mary Jo, Hi, Pat) asked me to make this card for her friend, Joan.  Joan favorite color is blue and I decided to use Chocolate Chip for card base.  The flower was from a retired set called Echoes of Kindness.  Love that set. Hopefully Joan will like the card.

Happy Thanksgiving

Good Morning!

A quick post today.   I would like to wish everyone who is celebrating Thanksgiving today "Have a Happy Thanksgiving."  And I also would like to thanks  my blog readers. Thank you for visiting my blog and thank you for your lovely comments.  Lastly, I wanted  to thanks my husband (Victor) for supporting me in building this blog and for supporting me with my paper craft addiction.

Today is another pinwheel card.  The white background was an embossed DCWV  but it didn't show.

Another star ornament

Hello,

Today I'd like to share this great project  to get rid of those scraps that are taking over your play area.  It looks like a book when it's closed but it is a star ornament. 

Here are the supplies. 

6 - 2" x 4 " for first layer

6 - 2" x 3 1/2" for middle layer

6 - 2" x 3" for the front layer.

2 pieces of ribbon about 8" each

If you want to stamp the front  pages do so now before fold them in half. I decided to stamp some of my favorite Christmas sentiments.

Fold all pieces in half.

 Adhere the first layers by stacking one on top of another.

 

 First layer completed.

 

Apply adhesive only to the edge of the second layer like shown

and attach to the first layer like this. Repeat with the other 5 pieces.

Do the same with the front layer. Tie ribbon on both ends.

Gingerbread gift card holder

I CASE this adorable gingerbread gift card holder from Patti at Creations by Patti.  Thank you Patti for the tutorial. Check out her step by step tutorial here.

I made a couple for the girls.

 

And a couple for the boys.

 

 I changed the roof measurement a little bit.  I combined the back roof and  the first layer of the front roof into one piece.   Don't know what I was talking about?  Here it is:  Patti had 4 pieces for the roof.

The back roof 1 1/4 x 4 1/4.

The first layer of front roof 7/8 x 4 3/4

Second layer of front roof 1 1/4 x 4 3/4

The bottom layer of front roof 1 3/4 x 4 3/4

I combined the back roof and the first layer of front roof into 2 1/4 x 4 3/4.  The other two pieces are the same.  I only had three pieces  to work with.  I like working with less pieces.

 Here is the view from the top.

 

 See the nice round heart shape.  The heart shape that I own was a bit too big for the gingerbread men/boy/girl. It's a little wired to call this adorable gingerbread as "man".  So I am going to call them gingerbread boy and gingerbread girl.  Let's get back to the heart shape.  The heart punch that I own was a little big.   Just then a light bulb went up and I got this nice round heart shape perfect for the small tag punch.  I don't own that tag punch either.  You can figure out how to make the tag punch.  I am going to just show you how to make the heart shape.

 

Here is how I made it.  Punch out any round five petals flower and cut out two petals. It was that simple and  there you have it.  A nice round heart.

Spinner gift card holder/Boy gift card holder

Good Monday Morning!

Beautiful sunny day here at the Delaware valley.  Today I like to share this spinner gift card holder.  A very nice lady from Crozer hospital was asking for me.  I went to see her and she asked me to make a few items for her.  This is one of the gift card holder that she ordered.  This is the front.  I forgot to take the size view of it.  It has lots of dimensional.  The basketball moves from size to size.  I saw this spinner card style on  Youtube.  Love that website!

Here is the inside.  I used the retired designer paper for the gift card holder.  The finished size of this gift card holder measure 4 x 6.

How to make a hard album cover

Hello,

Today I like to share how I made my album covers.  I used to make 4 x 4 brag book albums.  They were not popular.  Some people didn't even know what's a brag book album is.  A few months ago I met a friend and she asked me to make her a 6 x 6 album.  I liked how it turns out and kept making 6 x 6 album since then.  I've seen lots of mini albums online but they were all soft covers.  I like mine sturdy so I created hard covers for them.  I used cereal box.  Yes, you've read it right, cereal boxes and  not coasters.  I made my covers a little bigger then the album pages.  My album pages are 6 x 6.  I made my covers 6 1/2 x 6 1/2.  This way I had a quarter inch all around the album pages.

Supplies: 2 - 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 ( card board from cereal boxes)

              2 - 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 (card stocks)

 Place the card board in the center of the card stock and score all around.

 

Tip:  I used the back of the butter knife as my scoring tool.  It works great! I have to give my husband credit for that.  I had a hard time using my plastic scoring tool so my husband suggested that I used the back of the butter knife.

 

Fold on score lines and cut off the four corners.

 

Apply adhesive (of your choice) all over the card board and place it on  the card stock.  I used Modpodge. Using your palm to smooth the card stock.  Then apply adhesive on the four flaps and press it down to finish off the cover.  Since I used modpodge,  the cover curved a little.  So after I finished, I placed the covers under  heavy books  for a few hours or until it dry.

After it dried, I  glued them to the album.  I always used liquid glue for my album binding.  I knew it will stick.  Tape runner sometime doesn't always stick.

 

Cut two pieces of 6 x 6 coordinating designer papers and adhere it to the front and the back and decorate.

A few more mini albums

Hello,
I have just a few more mini albums to share.  These are just regular book like mini albums.  After making several waterfall mini albums, I was ready for something different.  Lucky me I found this blog here.  It show you how to put a mini album in just a few minutes. If you read my post, you knew it took me two hours to make one card.  There is no way I am going to make an album in a few  minutes.  I like my albums' cover sturdy, actually all my covers including post-it-note holder are hard covers. They look quite impressive right Rachel?

For the front cover I decided to use punches instead of quill flowers.  These  swirls here are from "Clear Stamp."  I love swirls and love them even more when they were half off.

 

I hand cut this poinsettia petals and assemble them.  This was inspired from "Mainly Flowers" blog.

 

Can't leave without showing another quilled flowers.

After making the waterfall albums, I thought the book like mini albums are too plan.  So I added this O' Christmas tree on one of the inside page. This made the album more interesting.  Won't you agree?

Quilled snowflake Christmas cards

Hello,

After making those big ornaments quilled snowflakes, I thought I'd make these small snowflakes for card accents. These are A2 cards and as you can see there are still plenty of space on the card so these snowflakes are pretty small.  No, they were not hard to make.  At first I thought it would be harder then the bigger ones since the pieces are smaller but I was surprised how easy it was to make these smaller ones.  I guess it was because the strips are shorter so it rolled faster and it was easier to assemble them.

I decided to add some glitter.  I used spray adhesive and dipped the snowflake in the diamond glitter.  The glitter didn't stick well so I painted clear finger nail polish on top.  This used of finger nail polish was inspired from a very talented, Marilynn  McGyver.  Check out her awesome creations here.

 

 Here is another one.  The same snowflake just different color and different layout with old retired designer paper.

Weaving Christmas cards

Good Morning,
Today I like to share this weaving Christmas card.  I really like how it turn out.  I think this is the card that I am going to send out this year.  We don't celebrate Christmas but I enjoy sending out Christmas cards to friends who celebrate Christmas.  And I also received quite a few cards every Christmas. I love receiving them.

This one here I used 3/8 grosgrain ribbon.  You will need 6 inches to make this wreath.   I really like how this one popped out.

 This one here I used 1/4 inch ribbon and you will need only 5 inches to make this wreath. It is thinner and smaller so it doesn't really pop out.  But I still like it.  AC Moore has this 1/4" ribbon on sale this week 4 spools for one dollar.  Can't beat that!

 

 So I bought different colors.

 

 

I love the embossed snowflake background.  My friend Maritza lend it to me.  Thank you Maritza. I knew you would want to learn how to make this.  There's a great tutorial  here.

Star card/ornament

Good Morning!
I was so into quilling and mini albums that I don't even remember the last time I did a tutorial. Today I wanted to share this star card/ornament.  This star card/ornament is so easy.  The credit goes to Felicity Gray. You will need 5 - 3 x3 square pieces of paper.  The DSP sampler is perfect for this project.  The red marks are for valley folds and the blue mark is the mountain fold.  Hi, Barbara Daine, isn't it the same fold like your triangle card?

 Then fold in like this.  Make five of them.

 

 To assemble apply adhesive on one size like shown and adhere each piece on top of another.

 

Thread ribbon like shown. The neat thing about this card/ornament is both sizes of the paper are shown.

 

 Then punch out two 1 1/2 squares one for the front and one for the back and adhere on top of the ribbon.   Sorry about the flash.  I took this at 10:30 PM.
