Pink Box

Hello,

I made this pink box last week. I wanted a simple box so this was my complete box.

It looks too plain.   So I added some details on the sides and here is the box now.
I don't know what to think of it now.  I asked Faye how the box looks.  She  said she likes the plain one better.  Hmm, may be I lost my taste in crafting.

Until next time

Here is Faye thank you card for Katie.

Congrats Card

Hello,

Made this card for a student-teacher  in Faye class.  I didn't know what her school color is so I went with black and white.

I also made some cards and a box for her but forgot to take a picture.  I think old age is catching up on me.

Have a marvelous Monday.  Enjoy the weather.

We R Memories Punch Board Gift Bags

Hello Blogger Friends,

I am back to do  more paper crafts.  I made this bag with my own pattern.

It took me sometime to make it.  So when I saw the We R memories gift bag punch board on sale at Joann Fabric online I was super excited and order it right away.

When I saw how small the board is 5 1/8"w x 9" H, I knew this board won't make the bag size that I needed.
I need lots of big bags 7"x 3" x 9".  I thought this punch board will help me make the bags  faster.  It turned out the provided templates make three small gift bags.

small- 2 5/8" w x 2" D x H ( the high is adjustable)
 medium - 3" w x 2" D x H
Large - 3 5/8" w x 2" x H

Here are the bags from smallest to biggest.

I put some numbers together.   It required 2 pieces of 12 x 12 patterns. I was able to make bigger bags using the punch board template. The size of the bag remained 2".
It took me longer than I like.

I played around with some numbers.  I made 7"w x 3" D x 9" H bag without using the punch board and it was so easy.  Here are the bags.

These bags fold flat.   I''ll share a tutorial when I have more time.

Until next time.....

Crochet Jackets

Hello,

It was all started with this little jacket for the AG doll.

It looks so nice so I can't just stop at one jacket.  I made  one with no sleeve.
Isn't that just adorable?  Then I thought, hmmm, may be I can make one for Faye.  Lucky me last month Joann online had Red Heart With Love yarn (love that yarn!) on sale at almost 50% off plus FREE shipping on top of that.  What a deal that was!  So Faye and I were shopping together choosing the colors.

Here are all the colors

I must had about 30 skeins because they came in a big box.

I was hopping Faye would choose the Hawaii Blue

for her jacket since she looks so nice in blue but she wanted hers in gray so here it is.

I took me three try (many wasted hours) before I finally got the right stitches for her size.  After that everything came quickly.  It took me two days to finished her jacket.

Then I wanted one too.  I wanted fun color.  Most of my clothes are in dark color so I made mine in Hawaii Blue.  It turned out the blue was a little too bright for me.

As some of you knew, many times I don't follow pattern.  They are too confusing. I never understand the gauge, the stitch and the inches.   Some patterns had too many unnecessary wording while others didn't have enough explanations.  So I set out to fine my own pattern.  I spent 5 hours on this piece here.  It turned out too big for me so I had to take it apart and start over.

Once I had the right stitched, the jacket was pretty quick to make.

Although the color was too bright for me, I wore it any way since I made it already.  My sister Sue was visiting us and she liked it.  I told her I would make one for her since I still had plenty of yarns plus this one is a bit small for her. She said it's o.k the jacket will stretched.  Here is the funny part.  She tried it on.  She kept on pulling the jacket and sure enough it stretched.  It fit her and it is too big for me now. (lol)  I told her I couldn't give it to her yet since I need it for sample.  My niece wanted one  in gray and I am thinking of black  or teal for myself.

That it is for this time.  Have a fantastic Monday!

Back From MIA

Hello,

I am back from a short break.  We drove to Florida semi vacation/work.  On our last day there we saw this.  The rocket looked small because this photo was taken about 6 miles a way by someone.  I took some pictures but mine didn't come out good.  Up close the rocket was pretty big.

You can read more about it here

Before I went to Florida, I cut up some 2 x 2 papers to fold the Kusudama.  In this picture there were 76 packs.  Each pack has 60 pieces.
I took some with me to Florida and before I knew it the shoe box was filled with folded papers.

Have a marvelous Monday.

Crochet AG Doll Afghans

Hello,

As if I didn't have enough scrap yarns already.  Katie at Westie and Julep sent me some more scrap wools.  She asked if I can used her scrap wools, sure I can.   I used what I can to make the center of the granny squares and then I used Lion Brand Pound Of Love to finish off the afghans.

This first one was sent to Katie.

I made these white daisy flowers long ago.  I was hoping to make an afghan to fit a twin bed but I didn't have enough flowers.   So I used what I had to make AG doll blankets.  Do you like the joining?  It is called flat braid. You can fine the tutorial here.

I like day bed so I built a plane one for Faye's dolls from scrap woods.
Another doll blanket in progress

Aren't they cute?  They are pretty quick to make and I think they would make wonderful gift.  So Faye's friends will be getting one set each on their birthday.

Thanks for looking and Happy crocheting!
