Altered Quilling Flowers Frame

Hello,

I had some left over quilling flowers from a while ago and the last time I went to craft show one customer suggested that I made a frame with this color combination, light purple and celery.  I like how it turned out.

I thought this card worth sharing.  My daughter made this card for her classmate birthday.  She started to use the circle sizer so her flower petals are more even now.   Look she also added white border on the flowers.

My heart goes to those who are affected by the hurricane Sandy.  I hope you and your families are safe.

Pink Crochet Set

Hello,

I love how the purple set turned out so I have to make another set and this time it is pink.  My 8 years old next door neighbor loves pink.  But the hat and the glove is a bit small ( fit 4 and 5 year old) so I have to make a second pink set for her.  This time I used front and back post for the cuff.  I mentioned in my last post that I didn't like crochet the cuffs because they never turn out evenly.  So for this pair I crocheted the two cuffs at the same time  and they were still not even but I like the look of the front post and back post stitches that I will try it again.

I did shell ruffle scarf instead of just double crochet stitches.
I used the Lion Brand Pound of Love yarn and the hook that I used were 3.25 mm for the gloves and the hat and 4 mm for the scarf.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Purple Crochet Set For A Girl

Hello Blogger Friends!

Birthday gift for girl is so easy to fine or make.  My daughter is going to her classmate birthday party this Saturday and I made this crochet set for her to give it to her friend.

I discovered a new way to make the gloves.  I knitted the cuff first then I crocheted the rest of the glove.  This way the two gloves finished evenly.  Trying to crochet a pair of exact same glove or sock is not easy as it look because the stitches tension was not the same and I ended up 2 gloves with different sizes.

I don't like the ruffle scarf that I saw on the web.  It was too ruffle (lol).  It was too curly for me so I changed the pattern.  If you know how to crochet, the ruffle scarf is the easiest scarf to make.

Here is my pattern.  It can be used for 5 to 7 years old.  You can change the pattern by increasing the stitches.   I crochet tighter than other people so I used more stitches.

Ruffle Scarf pattern

1. Chain 121
2. single crochet in the second chain from hook. single crochet across. chain 1 and turn
3. 2 half double crochets in each single crochet across.  chain 2 and turn
4. 2 double crochet in each half double crochet across.  chain 2 and turn
5. 1 double crochet, chain 1, 1 double crochet chain 1, across
6. single crochet across with contrasting color.

Thank for stopping by again.

Baby Girls Crochet/Knit Hat and Boot Sets

Hello,

I like making quick items especially crocheting and knitting items.  Who won't right?  These sets are for new born and the set can be made in just a little over 1 hour.

The color below is Passion.  It is a very pretty purple but it look so dark in the picture.
I like knit booties than crochet booties.  The knit booties are much softer compare to the stiff crochet booties. However, the crochet booties are so cute!

Celebrate You Candle Box

Hello,

You know I personally  love boxes and so do other people.

I made this candle and shared it last month.  I didn't like the plan box that was holding it before so I made this box to hold it instead.  I kept forgetting to add tissue paper in the box  before I took the picture.

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

Gray Broomstitch Scarf

Hello,

When I first saw this crochet pattern, I wanted to learn how to do it right a way.  This pattern is my favorite pattern in crocheting so far.

Isn't it gorgeous? or it is just me.  I just love this pattern.  Can you picture it in purple, raspberry or pink!

I checked the size #50 knitting needles.  They cost almost $10 for a pair.  Even  with the 40% off coupon, they still came out around $7 after taxes.  I knew I am not going to use them so I used a small pvc pipe
(3/4 inch) , a left over pipe scrap  for the lace.

Have a wonderful day!
