9 Draws Dresser

Good Afternoon Blogger Friends!

I finished decorating the dresser the same way I did with my last one.  I played around with different embellishments and tried different ways to embellish the mirror. I didn't like any of them.  I had to take out the embellishments and added a new piece of card stock to cover the ripped mirror area.   I wasted enough time so I ended up decorated it the same way like I did with the La Cream dresser (on the left side bar).

The mirror is real.  I bought it from Ac Moore.  You can find the rose tutorial here.

Decoration on both sides.
It is hard to see here.  I added embossed pattern paper to the front of the draws before I added the brad.
On the back I added a small chip board to sturdy the mirror.

Tea Light For Bridal Shower Favors

Hello,

My friend asked me to make her 30 tea lights and boxes for a bridal shower favors.  I had decorated many tea lights and boxes in the past and those boxes measured 3 x 2 inches but my friend wanted a smaller boxes for the bridal shower favors.  These new boxes measures 2 x 1 3/4 inches.  I will share a tutorial how to make the box in another post.  I got carried away I made 15 of the same boxes.

Decoration around the box.
I  always bought my battery tea  lights from Micheal's.  They carried them in bulk (24) and when I used the 40% coupon it was about .50 cent a piece.   There is a new Dollar Tree in the neighborhood and I saw it carried the tea light battery so I gave it a try.  They are the three smaller tea lights in the front row.  I don't like them very much.  The bottom part where it hold the battery kept coming off.  So I was back at Micheal's to get the rest of the tea lights.

I am working on the other 15 boxes will share them next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Purple Flourish Stitches

Hello,

I decorated this paper mache box sometime ago.  I like everything that are swirly and I love this swirl stitching pattern.   I made a card using this swirl here. However, when I tried then on the lid of the paper mache box, I wasn't really happy with the result.  I think because they are too close together.

I stamped the Fancy Flourish from Paper Trey Ink around the box using Elegant Eggplant ink from SU and added small quilling flower to the center.

Thanks for looking!

Green and White Crochet Rose Note card

Hello Bloggers!

Just a quick sharing today.  I made this quick note card with the pattern paper that my friend Rachel gave me a while ago.  I wanted to show off the pretty paper so I just added my handmade crochet rose and three small paper rose buds.  I don't have those pretty lace so I just added the $1 lace that I bought from AC Moore.

Another one in purple.  I think the rose looks much prettier with the pearl in the center.

I'm going to share my card on the following link also:

9 Draws Matchbox Dresser Tutorial

Hello Blogger Friends!

From time to time I had ladies email me asking how I made my La Cream  matchbox dresser.  Since I have't done a tutorial in a while, so I thought I will share the tutorial today.  This tutorial can also be applied to the 6 draws dresser that I made also.

I used SU matchboxes but you can use any box as long as it is like a matchbox.

This is how I assembled my matchbox.

You will need 9 of them

I glue them 3 at a time side by side like shown.  You should have 3 sets of this.

Apply glue all over.  Then adhere the middle boxes. Do the same to the last set.

And you should have this.

Cut a piece of card stock 3 x 3 1/2 inches and score on the 3 1/2 inch size at 1/2 inch and 3 inch. See picture below

Apply strong adhesive to the 1/2 inch ends (both ends) and adhere it to the back of the 9 draws. Position it in the center.  This back piece is for holding the mirror part.

You should be able to push the 9 draws.  View from the back.
View from the front

Next you will need 2 pieces of card stocks measure 3 x 6 3/4 inches.
Optional: 2 pieces of chip boards 3 x 6 3/4 inches

For durability I cover my chip boards with the card stocks. Round the corners.

Then adhere one piece on the top and one on the bottom.  Making sure to leave 1/4 inch on the sides and on the front.  The back side should line up evenly with the 9 draws.

I used this chip board for the mirror panel.  I covered it with card stock.

And adhere it to the back

When apply adhesive to the mirror panel, make sure you don't apply it on the draws otherwise you won't be able to open the draw.

Front view
Try pulling all the draws out.  All draws should be able to pull out.  Now decorate the dresser any way you like.  I will share this when I am done decorating it.

I used these for the stands.
I hope this tutorial help some of you.  I f you have any question, feel free to email me or leave the comment here.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful weekend.

Altered Wooden Boxes

 Hello Bloggers!

Can you believe it is March already!
I bought these boxes  last year from Micheal's.  I painted them with acrylic paint and then I was thinking of decorated the boxes after the paint dried.  I played around with it but I didn't like the plain looking boxes so I covered them with pattern paper before I decorated them.

This is my first one.  I decorated  all the boxes both sides the same.

I made these quick and simple tags for the boxes.

All flowers were handmade by me.  For one of the flowers on the last box you can fine the tutorial here.
