Hexagon Crochet Flower

Hello,

These are the  last batch of my May crochet marathon.

I saw a really nice purse made from these hexagons here and I immediately wanted one.  I crocheted all the pieces that needed for the purse except 4 squares.  I stared to join the hexagons and I didn't like it then found out that my white border was wrong.  She changed the white border from double crochet stitch to single crochet stitch.  See my photo above  I had to redo half of them.

this is what it should look like

So there goes my second crochet purse waiting to be finished.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Triple Crochet Flowers Note Card

Hello,

I believed I saw a sketch somewhere and made this card. I'm neutral for this card.  However, looking at the crochet flowers I think I like the 6 petals better than the 5 petals.

Have a lovely weekend!

Baby Boy Onesis

Hello,

My older brother just became a father a little over a month ago.  His friends gave the baby lots of clothes and toys so we don't need to give them those.  He is going to need lots of diapers in the next two years so we sent him a nice check  tucked inside this onesis instead.  I told him about it and he was very excited about the check.

The onesis is my own template.  I  saw some onesis templates out there.  Some are free and some are  not free.  I didn't like them because they used circle punch to punch out the legs section. So I created my own template.

I'm going to link this to

Granny Square Roses

Hello,

These are the second to the last crochet batch  from last month during my May crochet marathon.
Each granny square measure a little over 2 inches squares.   I have seen some lovely crochet purses and I was thinking of turning these into a purses.

I will need at least 20 more squares to make the purse that I like.  Crocheting the squares were not hard for me.  The thought of sewing the inside of the purse slowed me down since I barely know how to sew.  But I really needed a new purse so I will think of something....

I combined a few granny squares that I saw on the web to make these granny squares.
I saw the roses here but I changed the center because  I don't like those holes in the center.

Then the next two rounds after the center rose was from here.

Thanks for looking.  Have a lovely weekend and stay cool!  It is HOT, HOT, HOT in the Delaware Valley.

Lots and lots of Crochet Flowers, Oh My!

Hello Blogger Friends!

Look at what I had been doing for the month of May.

During the second week of May Joann online had the crochet threads on sale for 25% off.  I thought it was not bad. So I bought this first box.   There were 15 balls total.

I haven't receive my first order yet and the crochet threads went on sale again the following week. This time they were 50% off.  How can I resist such a sale!  So I ordered  more crochet threads. I didn't even know how many balls I ordered.  See the tiny balls in the plastic bag, I didn't know they were that tiny. They were the size of a goal ball and the thread sizes were much finer too.
After receiving the two orders, I realized I didn't order any neutral colors so here they are my third order.
I believe there were 15 balls in there.  I thought I order some green for the size #3 thread but I didn't. Oh, well.  May be I'll place another order. lol

I had been making large crochet roses.  These roses are about 3 inches big.  I turned them into brooches.
Crochet flower utorial here.

I believe the roses in the pictures below are called the cabbage roses.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  I love them! I will be making more of these.  I couldn't help it! I just love them!

The following crochet flowers are smaller.  I used them to embellish cards and boxes.  I am going to make them into hair accessories also.
These gold flowers were the hardest to crochet.  The thread kept tangling.  I am glad I bought only 1 ball.

These purple flowers were made using the DMC thread. The tiny golf ball size. The flowers looked big here but they were only about 1 inch.
I was trying to make sunflowers.

Testing the pink shade thread.   Tutorial

These white scallops are about 2 inches.

I have more to share but I thought I will keep it for another post.

Thank you so much for looking.

Small Gift Purses

Good Morning!

I bought these purse templates from here last year because I didn't feel like spending hours making the template.  Plus her price was reasonable.   I didn't like the original purses size so I changed the purse size to fit small gift instead of just gift card.

Yellow is my least favorite color.  I had yellow papers more than I needed and I wanted to get rid of them so I made them into purses.

Thanks for stopping by.

Quilling Peas

Hello,

Is it June already? Oh, my!

Sharing a quick quilling peas that I made a few weeks ago.  These quilling peas came from a quilling book that I bought when I first learned to quill.  When I first started to quill, I wanted to buy all the quilling books out there. That would mean I need lots of these $$$$.  It took me a long time to decide to buy this book. It is called Thrilling Quilling by Lizabeth Moad. I wanted to buy a quilling book that gives me lots of different designs and I think this book gives me what I was looking for.  Also if you google "quilling cards",  you will get more quilling than a quilling book can offer..  No more buying quilling book!

Thanks for looking!  Have a wonderful weekend!
