Cottage Wall Mother's day mini album

Good Morning,

Today I'd like to share this mini album. We don't celebrate St. Patric's Day or Easter so I fast forward to Mother's Day.  This album is similar to my Christmas album.  I just changed the papers.

These are the inside pages.

Elegant Bouquet Cards

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to post this yesterday but other things got in first and never got around to posting and earlier today my computer crashed along with the internet service.  Thank goodness I have a very handy man husband who can fix almost anything (smiling).  Let me clarify that he can fix almost anything that is mechanical related from computer, software and hardware; car - he never let anyone other mechanic touches our cars except during car inspection. He fixed houses. I did fix houses with him.   Sssh! don't tell him that I am bragging about him.

Well, this is suppose to be some quick cards but I played around with the Stampin" pastel chalk so these cards took a little more time to make.
Here was how I created these cards.  First, I brayed the debossed side of the embossing folder.  Place whisper white card stock in the folder and then ran it through the big shot.

Then I used Q-tip to pick up the chalk and colored the flowers.

After I colored the flowers, I felt that the cards still needed something.  I tried the rhinestone and love it!  I bought these rhinestone from Joann Fabric.  It was a 1 lb. bag.  Do you know how many rhinestone there are?  Too many to count.  I was very happy with the purchased.  I don't need to buy rhinestone for a LONG time!  Oh, they came in different sizes.

These two cards I used vellum.  I didn't really like them because after I colored the chalk came off and smeared the cards.

Hope you've enjoyed today post.

Asian Artistry Cards

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for stopping by again.  As you can see, lately, I am a little flowers and butterflies frantic (is that the right word?)  Every card that I've created lately, all had flowers and butterflies.  For these two cards I borrowed Sandi MacIver's gold embossing techniques.  I didn't case her card (yay!) If you are my regular readers, you knew I always had a hard time creating any card.   But I thought lately, I've made some improvement on card making.  These two cards came together pretty quick.

I didn't use watercoloring technique.  I just colored Real Red marker and on Very Vanilla card stock.  I colored two of these flowers prior to the two I used on these two cards.  I left it to dry.  After about half an hour I thought the ink would dry already.  I touched them and got smeared (grrr...). Tossed them.

So I made these two.  This time after I colored them I left them to dry at least 1 hour and guess what? They both got smeared again!  I didn't want to throw them away.  Then I used clear embossing powder to cover the flower that stopped it from smearing more.  Then I added the dragon fly to cover up the smeared parts.  I thought it work out great.

This second card here I didn't want to use the dragon fly to cover up the smeared ink.  The ribbon covered it a little.  Don't look too close the red line is there.

Like my water mark? (smiling)  I've read a few posts recently.  There were some people out there that would just copy (images) from other blogs without the blog owners' permission and pasted the image on their own blog or magazine cover.  I am not worry about any one copy my creations but I thought it's neat to have a water mark.

Card stocks: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Real Red
Ink: Real Red and Old Olive
Clear Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Polka Dot embossing folder and Eyelet border punch.

Thank you for visiting me today.  Have a lovely day!

Mini treat purse tutorial

Hello,

Aren't these mini treat purses just adorable? I posted these  last week or so.  I had several people asking me for the measurement.

So here is the tutorial.

(1) - 3 x 5 1/2 card stock or DSP -

(2) - 1 x  2 5/8 - for size panel - score 1/2" from each end

(1) -  1/2 x 4 for handle

Score the 3 x 5 1/2 piece as the following: 1 1/4, 2 1/4, 3 1/2 and 4 1/2

then cut as shown.  I forgot to mark the diagonal score line that looked like the right triangles on the corner.  It is 1/2" from the edge.

Place the two size panels like shown.

Apply adhesive where I marked the "x" and assemble.  If you don't want the front flap, reduce your paper to
3 x 3 1/2".

If you have questions about the tutorial, don't hesitate to ask.

Happy crafting!

Faye's Scrap Pages

Hello,

Today I like to share Faye first time at the park.  She loved the mulches and kept on garbing them onto her.  Thank goodness she didn't like it enough to eat them like her play date.

First time at the beach.  Don't you just love those tiny feet!

Thanks for visiting.

Of the Earth Cards

Good Morning,

I made this first card before I had the polka dots embossing.  I've seen people used score lines as card accent. So I thought I'll give it a try.  I don't have the Scor-Pal board so it was difficult to make many score lines on the same paper. Don't look too close.  Some lines are not straight.  Boy, I don't have many craft items. I better start a wish list now.

This second card here I used a sketch from MoJo 124.  I saw a bedding sheet, very vanilla and chocolate,  on Khol's catalog and I like the Mojo 124 sketch so I gave it a try.  I am neutral with this card.  May be I should try Certainly Celery and So Saffron and Basic Black.  Hmmm!

O.K! I am going to try it out now.

Until next time!

Echoes of Kindness meets God's Beauty

Hello Everyone,

What did you get when you put "Echoes of Kindness and God's Beauty" together? I guess these two cards and more. I love these two stamp sets.  The flowers were from Echoes of Kindness and the butterfly was from God's Beauty.  Too bad both sets were retired.  But I will be sharing a few more cards using these sets.

I saw this card on SCS under a different stamp set.  I changed the card a little to make it my card and cut out the flowers for 3 D affect. I changed the color also.  I like it how it turns out.

Then I added the sentiment and it was crocked so I had to punch out the sentiment to cover the mistake.  I don't have craft color ink or Bashful Blue so I used Basic Black second generation.  For those who are new to stamping, Basic Black second generation stamping means I inked with Basic Black ink then stamped once on scrap paper.  Then I stamped the second time for my sentiment.  With the sentiment at the top,  the card looked out of balance.  I am not happy with the finished card.

Therefore, I had to make another one.  Again, I changed the accessories a little.  I added the polka dot embossing folder and took out the three gems at the bottom and added ribbon instead. I decided to add the sentiment at the bottom.  I really like this one.

Card stocks: Whisper White, Craft, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue

Ink: Orchard Opulence, Tangerine Tango (retired), Summer Sun, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black

I am so glad you stopped by today.  Have a wonderful day!

Happy V-day

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone,

I wanted to share some of my passed Valentine crafts that I had forgotten all about them. I made them a long time ago.  I no longer had these crafts.  Don't remember what I had done with them. Most likely I trashed them.  Thanks goodness I had these pictures so I can recreate them again.  These pictures were not good because I took them from photos.

This is the kusudama  with two birds and a heart.  I remember I made the same one except it was blue  for a bridal shower gift.  Don't remember what I did with this pink one.

I made this heart shape from wire floral and just added beads on the wire and then poked the two birds through the wire. Poor birds, but they looked happy together though!

I did an individual tutorial for this piece on this one here.  I assembled them into heart shape.

Here is another one.  I really missed this one.  Don't know what happen to it.

I made this one intended for a wedding gift but I didn't like the colors so I trashed them.

Hope you've enjoyed today post.

Wishing you a happy Valentine's day!

Also today is Chinese and Vietnamese New Year.  It is the year of the Tiger.

xox,

More dollar bill hearts

Hello Everyone,
A quick post today.  I have a few more dollar bill hearts to share.  This first picture here is a dollar bill heart ring.  Cute! isn't it? It fit my finger but I rather use the two-way-glue pen to show the ring. My fingers are stiff and dry from shoveling about 2 feet of snow.

The second picture here is a double hearts made from 2 dollars bill.  I've had this for more than ten years.

Here are all the dollar bill hearts. I had two other dollar bill ring.  You can see the tutorial here.

Hope you've enjoy today post.

Mini Treats

Hello,
Aren't these mini treats adorable?  I couldn't resist making them after I saw Tami White demonstrated on Stampin' Connect.  They are a great way to get rid of  those scraps.

I saw these mini purses here.

I saw this triangle kisses holder at Dream, Create, and Share blog.  I don't have the Circle Sizzix die cut so my measurement is different from her.

And these are the treat holder that I've came up with.

Here is the inside.  It could hold 3 Kisses or other small sweet.

Thanks for visiting.  Have a lovely day!
